Kolber began her career as a journalist in New York City as a CBS Sports video coordinator. She won an Sports Emmy while working for WTVJ-TV Miami. She worked for WPLG-TV, Miami as well as WPEC-TV West Palm Beach. The station hired her as anchor on ESPN2 in 1993. The time she worked with ESPN2 lasted three years. She then moved on to Fox Sports. Her return to ESPN hosting in 1999.
